Lab Members

Current
- Amisadai Toledano Ramos
- Undegrad student at FCB-UAEM. She is currently working on her bachelor’s thesis, exploring the development of extrafloral nectaries in Turnera species.
- Elsy Naomi Miranda Vargas
- Undegrad student at UPEMOR. She is currently working on her bachelor’s thesis, exploring ribosome biogenesis in wild-type and mutant plants of A. thaliana
- Edson Javier Bautista Rodríguez
- Undegrad student at CIDC-UAEM. He studies Bryophytes from xeric environments to dig into microbial endophytes and the role they have in making mosses and liverworts drough resistant species.
- Gilberto Vicente Guízar Sánchez
- Undegrad student at CIDC-UAEM. During his volunteer stay at the lab, Gilberto has been working on 3D printing lab material and equipment. He is also designing new tools to make science on a budget.
- Juan Manuel Palacios Corona
- He is currently preparing his master’s project to officially re-join the lab after his bachelor. He will be studying root development in model and non-model species.
- Alexis Omar Campuzano González
- Alexis finished his PhD using x-ray crystallography to understand the mechanisms of plant protease inhibitors. He is now using his skills as structural biologist to dig into intrinsically disoredered transcription factors and how they regulate root growth in Arabidopsis.
- Joel Rodríguez Herrera
- Research internship He was an undergrad student at CCG-UNAM. He worked on inferring transcriptional regulatory networks in the root apical meristem of dicot and monocot species.
- Kenia Aislinn Galván Alcaraz
- Graduated on Oct 2024. She was working on RNA-seq and smallRNA-seq to explore the transcriptional regulation of determinate growth in Carnegia gigantea.
- Julieta Olvera Berruecos
- Graduated on Dec 2023 Her project was focused on standardizing a protocol for High-molecular-weight DNA extraction from Cactaceae and other challenging species.
- Yuleimi Corín Pacheco Blancas
- Graduated on Dec 2022. Corin’s project was mainly focused on characterizing Echinopsis mirabilis as a model species for Cactaceae, specifically for developmental and molecular studies.
- Ramsés Uriel Albarrán Hernández
- Graduated on May 2021. Ramsés’s project was focused on the phylogenetical analysis of the PLETHORA transcription factors, and their possible involvement in Cactaceae root determinate growth.
